Virtual Private Networks
A Virtual Private Network, or VPN, encrypts your internet connection between your computer (or iPhone or iPad) and the your VPN provider. If you’re using a public wifi hotspot like at McDonalds or Starbucks, a VPN keeps others from snooping on your traffic. A VPN can also protect your internet traffic at home, keeping your Internet Service Provider (ISP) from seeing where you’re going or what you’re doing. (Unfortunately one of the first bills passed by the GOP-controlled Congress and signed into law by President Trump enabled ISPs to intercept your internet traffic.)Â
We use and recommend Private Internet Access (PIA) VPN. You can click the image on the left to learn more about them.
